I am in a bit a quandary regarding this order. I have not received it. The UPS tracking shows it coming to Canada then going to California. I have not been able to contact UPS as they only seem to want to hear from US addresses. Fine Art America has not been of any assistance in getting me connected with my order. As a result of this experience, I do not plan on ordering anything more from this supplier. Too bad, there are a lot of nice things on their website. If this matter gets sorted out, I will update this review. Update: my order eventually arrived and I am quite happy with it.

I probably will NOT purchase from this site again. The quality of the puzzle was just okay, for example there were many pieces where the backing was delaminating. (See 2 photos) Additionally, the size was advertised as 20" x 28". The finished puzzle size was actually 19-5/8" x 26-1/8". I feel that skimping on the size resulted in the face of the bottom kitty being half obscured when framed. This is the most I've ever paid for a puzzle that I expected to be perfect. (I could only select 1 photo. Please email me if you want photos of puzzle pieces delaminating.)

I haven't done the puzzle yet but I was very pleased with the speed it was sent. The puzzle itself is brilliant I only wish I were able to find Linda Carruth's puzzles in England

Doorstops are simply heavy objects used to hold a door open. Until the late Renaissance, rocks or bricks were used for this purpose. By the late 1700s, however, many homes utilized round, decorative examples made of sand-cast brass, or other types of metal with flat, hollow backs, according to an "Antique Trader" cover feature by Melody Amsel-Arieli.
By the early 19th century, the first French and English homes employed iron doorstops in a bevy of shapes. Some of these, says Amsel-Arieli, were called door porters and they came with long handles used to lift and place these heavy objects.
When found in pairs, it is safe to assume those doorstops were used to hold double doors open. They can be matching or in complimentary pairs like famed traditional British puppets Punch and Judy, for example. The value of these sets, as with other cast iron door...
