The starfish of the Cayman Islands, particularly the Red Cushion or West Indian sea star (Oreaster reticulatus) at Starfish Point in the North Sound of Grand Cayman, are a beloved natural tourism and recreational resource to the Cayman Islands.
Situated on the north side of Grand Cayman, Starfish Point is paradise personified. Speckled with starfish this beautiful stretch of beach is breathtakingly beautiful and perfect for snorkeling as it is surrounded by crystal clear water on all sides.
Relaxed, secluded beach with shallow, clear water where colorful starfish can often be seen.
Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. George Town, its capital, is home to the Cayman Islands National Museum, dedicated to Caymanian heritage. The city is also a major cruise-ship port and site of the ruins of colonial-era Fort George. Beaches and vibrant coral reefs are the island’s hallmarks.
Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and the location of the territory's capital, George Town. In relation to the other two Cayman Islands, it is approximately 75 miles southwest of Little Cayman and 90 miles southwest of Cayman Brac.
This captivating sea creature has long been associated with good luck, fortune, regeneration, and renewal by many cultures around the world.
